Two Year Old Program
Our program
for two year olds offers a curriculum based on social, sensory,
and experimental learning. Using a center-based classroom, each
day consists of a balance of active and quiet play. Free play,
dramatic play, age appropriate art, music, outside play, and a
healthy snack rounds out each morning. Each month children are
introduced to a different color and shape that exists in their
world. The primary goal of our program is to create a fun
preschool experience while learning to get along with others.
Applicants must be 2 years old by September 1st to attend two days a week (TTH or WF). Applicants must be 2 & 1/2 years old by September 1st to attend 3 days a week(MWF). |

Optional Lunch Bunch is available on days of attendance. |

CHILDREN MUST BE
TOILET-TRAINED UPON ENTRANCE. IT IS RECOGNIZED THAT THE YOUNG CHILD WILL HAVE TOILET "ACCIDENTS" |
Three Year Old Program
The
primary goals of the three year old program are to
promote positive social growth and development and to
foster the growth of a positive self-image in each child
in a loving, safe Christian environment. We recognize
that each child will enter our program at different
levels socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically
and academically. We meet each child at his or her
beginning level and provide opportunities for each child
to grow and mature at his or her individual rate.
Our
program provides hands-on experimental opportunities for
the children to explore cognitive concepts in the areas
of Language and Reading Readiness, Math and Science and
Artistic expression and appreciation including fine art,
self-expression and music.
Applicants must be 3 years old by September 1st. |

Pre Kinder (Four &
Five Year Olds) Program
Children in the Pre Kinder classes build on their
cognitive and social skills that were learned in the two
and three-year old classes. The curriculum is designed
to promote the child's total development. Integrated
into our units of study are activities and learning
experiences that give each child the opportunity to grow
in all areas: social, emotional, physical, spiritual and
cognitive at their own pace.
Our
program boasts a curriculum that is inclusive of Reading
Readiness skills, Science and Math, Music and Art
appreciation as well as the development of the student's
gross and fine motor skills. Our Social Studies unit
includes learning to appreciate other cultures.
Information is shared about China, Africa, Mexico and
other countries that are reflective of our student's
family heritage.
Applicants must be 4 years old by September 1st to attend the MWF or TWTHF Pre-K. Applicants must be 4 & 1/2 years old by September 1st to attend the five day Pre-K. |

The
children at St. Matthew's learn through experimentation with a wide
variety of materials and through directed instruction by the teacher.
Concepts are taught through a thematic approach with topics taken
primarily from science and social studies. Language development and math
concepts are included in every area of the program. Outdoor play, rhythm
activities and movement are also important parts of our curriculum. |

Helping each child
reach their full potential is at the heart of our St. Matthew's
curriculum. Teachers recognize that every academic year brings a new
challenge and level of learning styles and ability within their
classrooms. Our low teacher/student ratio is credited with the success
of our teachers meeting each child at their development level,
interests, and learning styles. |
