The children at St. Matthew’s learn through experimentation with a wide variety of materials and through directed instruction by the teacher. Concepts are taught through a thematic approach with topics taken primarily from science and social studies. Language development and math concepts are included in every area of the program. Outdoor play, rhythm activities and movement are also important parts of our curriculum.
Helping each child reach their full potential is at the heart of our St. Matthew’s curriculum. Teachers recognize that every academic year brings a new challenge and level of learning styles and ability within their classrooms. Our low teacher/student ratio is credited with the success of our teachers meeting each child at their development level, interests, and learning styles.
Our Kindergarten curriculum is enriched by a variety of special subjects. Students enjoy learning both Spanish and Sign-language as well as attending Music Class and Fun ‘n Fitness twice a week.
The kindergarten at St. Matthew’s starts at 9:00am and ends at 2:30pm.
