About

About Us

St. Matthew’s Episcopal Day School is an SAES accredited co-educational half-day preschool serving children ages 18 months-kindergarten. Our classrooms, staffed by two teachers, are full of energy, curiosity, empathy, discovery and joy! From the minute our angels skip into the building with their parents, our hallways are filled with the happy sounds of learning. We strive to foster a lifelong love of learning in each child and meet their individual needs by presenting concepts in playful ways throughout our close-knit school community.

General goals of our program include:
  • Creating a spiritual atmosphere where caring and loving individuals reflect the love of God.
  • Providing an environment where children of all races, religions, family backgrounds and cultures are treated with equal respect and consideration within a diverse community.
  • Work closely with families in a partnership to ensure high quality education, as we help children grow as confident, compassionate social beings through group interaction.
  • Employ educators who continue their training through ongoing professional development and demonstrate excellence in early childhood education through best practices.
St. Matthew’s School shall not exclude students because of race, creed, sex, national origin, physical ability, or insofar as possible, economic status. A commitment to inclusion is an essential element of St. Matthew’s School.

St. Matthew’s Episcopal Day School is a member of the National Association of Episcopal School, the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools and Texas Private Schools Association.

Our Mission Statement

An education at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Day School begins a lifelong journey that includes the intellectual, spiritual, physical, emotional, and social development of the individual.

Our Vision

We will be a loving and inclusive community creating foundational experiences for children and families to positively impact the world.

Our Philosophy

The program at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Day School promotes the child’s total physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual development. We encourage in each child a love of God as we know God in Jesus Christ, a positive view of self, creative self-expression, an attitude of cooperation and sharing, and an expanding knowledge of the world in which we live.
